The West Coast Headquarters for the Food And Drug Administration (FDA) in Irvine, CA has been operational for over a decade. As a part of a whole building energy efficiency upgrade, Lutron Motorized shades powered by Lutron’s Hyperion control system were chosen to provide heat control at the East and West elevations. The East elevation’s serpentine shape and sloped glass provided provided challenges to conventional motorized shade applications. Interior Services was able to come up with a solution that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Since this project was technically a retro-fit, Interior Services provided a completely turn key system, pulling over 10,000 feet of low voltage cable and providing creative solutions to access issues.
