Children’s Hospital Los Angeles built a new patient tower with ISEC in 2010. Interior Services had the privilege of providing 425 shades in the patient rooms and perimeter windows. Many of them were manual 6000 series MechoShades on the Mecho/5 bracket. Other windows received motorized double shades with the same fabric as the manual shades, only with a 0700 series room darkening fabric behind them. Side channel was included to create a seal that eliminates light rays from coming into the room from the space between the window’s edge and where the shade ends. These were essential for creating an environment that is conducive to the patients’ needs.
